Transformed communities
where young people thrive.

For over sixty years, Fusion has been committed to supporting, mentoring and encouraging young people to step beyond what they know of themselves, to explore their potential and find their purpose in life. Our commitment is to see communities transformed into places where young people can thrive physically, emotionally and spiritually.

In Southern Tasmania, our team of passionate youth and community workers strive to bring the resources of the local community together, creating opportunities to support young people.

Our goal is to mentor and encourage young people to step beyond what they know of themselves, to achieve their full potential and find their purpose in life.

Our values of justice, mercy, compassion, respect and industry are the basis of Fusion’s work with young people. Incorporated into the design, goals, and delivery of our programs, they undergird our interactions with each other, the young people we work with and the wider community.

Adventure Based

Learning

Discovery is the ADVENTURE! At Fusion we know the best kind of learning happens when we push beyond what we know of ourselves and discover our real potential. For over 20 years, the Fusion Adventure Based Learning facility at Forest Glen in Kingston has seen thousands of young Tasmanians learn through adventure on the High and Low Ropes Course.

Our highly skilled and experienced team of facilitators will tailor the experience that is right for your school or group, ensuring the right outcomes are achieved on your visit.

Pilgrimages and

Connection to Country.

As part of our commitment to restoring relationships for individuals and communities, we continue to walk alongside our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander brothers and sisters, seeking to ’Know the Past, Change the Future’.

Since 2001, Fusion has run the Pilgrimage to Uluru; a journey that gives young people the opportunity to stop, listen and be transformed as they learn of the past, so that they can change the future.

The restrictions on travel in 2021, created opportunity to take a journey closer to home and we launched our Tasmanian based “Connection to Country” journeys. These experiences have given young people and families the opportunity to learn the stories of our first nations people in lutruwita/Tasmania, their culture, customs and lifestyle. These local journeys have been growing our understanding of the places we’re from and the history that shaped us and our communities.

Mentoring
program

The Fusion Mentoring Program early intervention initiative provides young people at risk of disengaging from education with hands on work experience in a real-world environment. Under the supervision of skilled volunteer mentors, students learn a range of practical skills, applying them to projects that contribute to the good of the wider community.

The Forest Glen property provides students with a range of opportunities to learn new skills including, horticulture, hospitality, carpentry, mechanics, cooking and general work-skills.
